Benefit from green energy: Arora for Pb industry

Chandigarh: Minister of Punjab for new and Renewable energy Aman Arora on Sunday urged industrialists to invest in non-conventional technologies and green energy sectors, citing “the state’s significant potential in this area.”
Stressing the need for a “transition to clean and sustainable energy sources”, Arora — who was speaking at a regional meeting on energy transition and sustainable development — called on new startups to “participate in this initiative”.
The minister said the Punjab government was ready to offer all-round support to boost agriculture development, adding that a 4 MW photovoltaic power plant had been set up at Tarkhanawala village in Bathinda district to meet the energy needs of agriculture.
This project is expected to produce about 6.65 million units of energy per year.
