Normal voters hit key voting discussions on the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election

NORMAL (25News Now) – Early voting begins in less than two weeks for the General Election in November.

Dozens gathered at the Normal First United Methodist Church to discuss the big decision in November.

The church thought about holding discussions for the community during the 2020 election, but Sunday afternoon was the first time the church held a presidential discussion.

It expected hundreds to join the discussion with Illinois Wesleyan University Political Science Professor Greg Shaw and Illinois State University Politics and Government Professor Lane Crothers about correct and incorrect information for the presidential election.

Normal First United Pastor Kent King-Nobles said voters must know these things as they head to the polls in November.

“We want people making these decisions to feel like they have tools to cut through and figure out what matters and what doesn’t. Also, who is representing their values and who’s not,” said King-Nobles.

Early Voting starts September 26th in Normal, and Election Day voting is November 5th.
