Android notifications may soon finally sync across all devices

Google appears to be working on a way to finally sync notifications across all devices in its ecosystem, according to reports. Android PowerMishaal Rahman, who discovered code references to a new “cross-device sync” option in Android 15 beta.

The snippet is apparently located in the Notifications section of Settings, between “sensitive notifications” and the new “notification wait time” option he spotted last week. As Rahman notes, there’s currently no notification syncing feature for Android. So if you dismiss a notification on your Android tablet, the same notification will still greet you later on your phone. I’m sure that would be a welcome change for most.

This string of code from the Android 15 beta likely shows a new cross-device syncing feature.

The sync code is also found under the Android-specific controller, suggesting the feature would be a little tidbit for the entire Android ecosystem, not just Pixel devices, Rahman writes. But there’s apparently no accompanying description to confirm that, so there’s still the possibility that it could be a Pixel exclusive.
