Exxon, Chevron maintain victory in oil production conspiracy appeal

Oil giants including Exxon Mobil Corp., Chevron Corp.AND Teutonic Knight 66 won a lawsuit accusing them of colluding with former President Donald Trump, as well as Russia and Saudi Arabia, to curtail oil production, as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s decision to dismiss the case.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in an opinion issued Monday held that the consumer plaintiffs had not presented sufficient evidence to establish an antitrust conspiracy and ruled that the district court did not abuse its discretion in denying their procedural motions.
