Brandon Miller’s socialite wife Candice sues him for unpaid rent on her New York apartment two months after her financier husband committed suicide over a $34 million debt

The widow of developer and financier Brandon Miller has been sued by her New York landlord for unpaid rent on their luxury apartment following her husband’s suicide.

Mak Acquisitions is demanding $195,000 from celebrity Candice Miller to cover rent on their 737 Park Ave. apartment from April to August, according to court documents seen by DailyMail.com.

The mother of two moved out of her Upper East Side apartment in August, but her landlord claims she has “refused to compensate her for services rendered.”

Rent for the swanky apartment was $47,000 until April, then rose to $49,000 as of May. According to Zillow, the apartment has five bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms in 4,382 square feet.

The lawsuit is the latest legal woe Brandon, 43, has left behind for his family. Court documents show he was nearly $34 million in debt and had just $8,000 in his bank account when he decided to take his own life.

Much of that debt was tied up in his Hamptons mansion at 25 Cobb Isle Road, which is currently on the market for $15.5 million.

Candice, 42, filed a bond application detailing four outstanding loans secured by the property, including a $2 million mortgage with Titan Capital, which recently sued her for missed payments.

In addition to the estate debt, Brandon had a significant unsecured loan of $11.3 million from BMO Bank. In addition, he owed more than $6 million to Donald Jaffe, a lender who had previously financed Miller and his father in various projects. Jaffe is still pursuing legal action to recover the unpaid balance.

Other creditors included American Express and Funding Club, a Brooklyn-based payday loan company to which Brandon owed more than $300,000 and $266,000, respectively.

In his farewell letter, his father explained that at the last minute he had failed to reach a business agreement, which had left him in an impossible situation.

The New York Times reported that Brandon also listed two life insurance policies that could be used to pay creditors.

He committed suicide by inhaling exhaust fumes while his wife Candice was traveling around Europe with their two daughters.

A worried man waited until his family had left town for a week-long luxury vacation before he got in his car and started the engine until their garage filled with toxic gas.

A wealthy friend arranged for a shocked Candice and her two daughters to fly back to the US on a private jet.

According to a reliable source, they arrived in time to say their final goodbyes to him before he was taken off life support at Stony Brook Hospital in Southampton and pronounced dead on July 3.

Shortly after her husband’s suicide in July, Candice moved to Miami Beach with her daughters and currently lives in a multi-million dollar apartment owned by a member of the von Fürstenberg family.

Last year, a trust linked to Alexander von Fürstenberg paid $10 million for the three-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom luxury condo where Miller now lives.

Diane von Fürstenberg’s net worth is estimated to be around $300 million, much of which comes from the sale of her famous clothing brand, named after her.

Several decades after divorcing her first husband, from a German royal family, von Fürstenberg married media mogul Barry Diller.

The couple, who married in 2001, purchased a beachfront property in April, also in Miami Beach, for a staggering $45 million.

It is unclear whether Miller and the ultra-wealthy couple have any connection.

It is known that Miller is friends with Alexander von Fürstenberg’s wife, Alison, also known as model Ali Kay.
