Most obituaries published in the Reading Eagle are submitted through funeral homes and crematoriums, but we do accept submissions from families. Obituaries can be sent to [email protected].

In addition to the obituary text, any photos you would like to include can be included in this email. Place the obituary text in a Word document, Google doc, or in the body of the email. Reading Eagle also requires a way to verify the death, so include the phone number of the funeral home or crematorium that is handling the deceased’s care or a photo of his/her death certificate. Please also include your full name, phone number, and address in this email.

All payments by family must be made by credit card. We will send proof of the completed obituary before payment is requested. However, the obituary cannot be published until full payment is received.

Obituaries may be submitted for any future date, but must be received no later than 3:00 PM on the day prior to the publication date in order to be published.
