Opinion | Modi 3.0: A Hundred Days of Vision, Action and Milestones

In the 100 days of Modi 3.0, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again proven that his leadership is synonymous with progress, determination and transformation. With an impressive list of achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, youth empowerment and security, the Modi government has laid the foundation for a thriving, self-reliant India. Let’s take a closer look at how these initiatives reflect a deeper vision for India’s future.

In the last Lok Sabha elections, farmers, reservations and unemployment were the main issues and Prime Minister Modi’s third term, in the first 100 days, focused intensely on addressing these issues. While previous governments had introduced various schemes, Modi 3.0 took bold steps to empower farmers, launch employment-generating development programmes and personally lead talks on reservation reforms.

A milestone during this period was India hosting the first-ever World Semiconductor Expo, showcasing India’s technological advances. On the international stage, Modi has become a leader to whom many nations turn, with Ukraine, Russia and Europe all believing in his potential to mediate the conflict. His leadership is further recognized, with the United States supporting India’s bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, underscoring Modi’s growing global influence.

A bold step towards infrastructure and economic growth

One of the most significant achievements of the first 100 days of Modi 3.0 is the approval of projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore, with a special focus on expanding the country’s roads, railways, ports and airlines. This massive investment in infrastructure is not just about physical development – it is about creating opportunities, increasing employment and laying the foundation for future economic growth. By increasing capital expenditure to ₹11.11 lakh crore, the government is expected to create jobs and accelerate industrial growth, helping India maintain its status as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

Moreover, the government has been working tirelessly to promote ease of doing business. The abolition of angel tax and reduction in corporate tax have created a more conducive environment for businesses. The Rs 1,000 crore venture capital fund for space startups is another bold step to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in tier II and III cities.

Supporting farmers and revitalizing agriculture

Modi’s deep bond with Indian farmers was evident from day one. In the last 100 days, Modi 3.0 has made remarkable progress in reviving the agriculture sector. The release of Rs 20,000 crore to 9.3 crore farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, along with the increase in the Minimum Guaranteed Price (MSP) for Kharif crops, shows the government’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of farmers. The approval of the Digital Agriculture Mission and large-scale irrigation projects like the Polavaram Irrigation Project in Andhra Pradesh further strengthen Modi’s long-term vision for sustainable agriculture.

The National Cooperative Policy will soon be launched to strengthen the cooperative sector by providing better access to resources and empowering farmers to decide their own fate.

Youth Empowerment: Building India’s Future

India’s youth are the backbone of the country’s future, and the first 100 days of Modi 3.0 have seen significant efforts to uplift and empower them. With a Rs 2 lakh crore package to promote employment and skill development, the government is investing in the future of 41 million youth over the next five years. Programmes like Gen-Next Support for Innovation Startups (GENESIS) and internships for 1 crore youth in top companies underline Modi’s determination to provide meaningful opportunities to the next generation.

By setting targets to educate 20 lakh youth and upgrading 1,000 industrial training institutes, the government is ensuring that young Indians are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

Empowering Women: Building an Inclusive Nation

Modi 3.0 not only focused on economic and infrastructural development but also made progress in promoting women’s empowerment. The recognition of over 1 crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’ — women earning over Rs 1 lakh per annum — shows the tangible results of initiatives aimed at improving women’s financial independence. By doubling the MUDRA loan limit from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, the government has further increased opportunities for women entrepreneurs across the country. Modi’s focus on women’s empowerment reflects his belief that real progress can be achieved only when every section of society, including women, is equally uplifted.

Focus on healthcare: strengthening the system

Healthcare has been a key focus of Modi’s third term, with significant changes aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services in the country. The addition of 75,000 new beds in medical facilities is a breakthrough that helps address the shortage of doctors and reduce dependence on foreign medical education. The establishment of a National Medical Register will bring transparency and efficiency to the healthcare system, ensuring more efficient use of medical resources.

Tribal Development: Laying the Groundwork for Inclusivity

Modi 3.0 has also made tremendous progress in uplifting the socio-economic status of India’s tribal communities. Through the Prime Minister’s Developed Tribal Village campaign, the government has set ambitious targets to develop 63,000 tribal villages, which will directly impact the lives of 5 crore tribal citizens. This holistic approach to tribal development is part of a larger goal of making India’s growth story inclusive and equitable.

Ensuring national security and mitigating cybercrime

National security remains at the heart of Modi’s government. In a historic move, a peace agreement was reached with the NLFT and ATTF in Trypur, ending 35 years of conflict and allowing 328 armed cadres to renounce violence and return to mainstream society.

In the digital sphere, the government has taken proactive steps to address the growing threat of cybercrime. The ‘Samanvay’ platform, along with the Cyberdost mobile app and the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre, are part of a broader strategy to protect citizens from cyber threats. Training 5,000 cyber commandos over the next five years will further strengthen India’s defence against cybercrime.

Major rail projects and housing initiatives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to demonstrate his commitment to inclusive development by laying the foundation stone and dedicating several landmark railway projects worth over Rs 660 crore in Tatanagar, Jharkhand, via video conference. These projects promise to improve connectivity and drive economic growth in the region. At the same event, PM Modi sent sanction letters to 32,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), reaffirming his government’s commitment to providing housing for all.

In a significant boost to India’s modern rail infrastructure, the Prime Minister also launched six Vande Bharat trains from Tatanagar Junction, setting a new benchmark for the speed and efficiency of rail transport across the country. This embodies the Modi government’s dual focus on infrastructure and social well-being, ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every corner of the country, especially regions of historical and cultural importance like Jharkhand.

Ayushman Bharat is getting bigger and better

In a landmark decision on September 11, 2024, the Union Cabinet approved a major expansion of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), extending health insurance to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above, irrespective of their income. The move will benefit around 4.5 crore families, including 6 crore senior citizens who will now get free health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh per family. With this approval, every senior citizen in this age group will have access to the benefits of the scheme, ensuring inclusive healthcare across socio-economic strata.

Vision of India’s future

As Modi 3.0 completes his first 100 days, the government’s efforts are a clear indicator of his commitment to transforming India into a global powerhouse. From infrastructure and agriculture to youth empowerment, women’s development and national security, Modi has laid out an agenda for inclusive growth that touches every aspect of Indian society.

Modi’s leadership continues to inspire confidence, and his transformative vision promises to take India to new heights. With each passing day, Modi 3.0 proves that this government not only lives up to expectations, but exceeds them.

India’s journey under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been one of bold reforms, visionary leadership and unyielding dedication to building a better future for all citizens. The next chapter promises even greater achievements as India moves forward with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
