EU President Nominates Spanish Minister as Antitrust Chief Role

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has nominated Teresa Ribera Rodríguez as the EU’s next competition chief, one of the most powerful and high-profile roles in the executive body of the European Union.

Ribera will also steer the EU’s climate policy, serving as “executive vice-president of a clean, just and competitive transition” if she is confirmed.
