DBT-BIRAC, BFI sign pact to support biomedical research and fund emerging startups, ET HealthWorld

New Delhi: Department of Biotechnology – Biotechnology Research Assistance Council (DBT-BIRAC), a Government of India undertaking, has announced a strategic partnership with funder and philanthropic organisation Blockchain For Impact (BFI).

The aim of the partnership is to support startups working in the field of biomedicine and life sciences through mentoring, initiatives to accelerate programs for startups and innovators, and financing for SMEs focused on product development, the research organization said.

Sandeep Nailwal, Founder, Blockchain For Impact (BFI), said, “We are committed to putting India’s R&D and biomedical research capabilities on the global map. Working with DBT-BIRAC, we are committed to supporting biotechnology innovations and cutting-edge health technology solutions to improve healthcare access and outcomes for communities across the country.”

The MoI was announced during the recently concluded fourth edition of Global Bio India conference in the presence of Dr. Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India and others.
