Tata Power Renewable Energy secures LoA for 400 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Maharashtra | Capital Market News

From Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company

Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Company (Tata Power), has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Government of Maharashtra, for the implementation of a 400 MW wind-solar hybrid power project in Maharashtra.

The LoA is for an initial contracted capacity of 200 MW along with a greenshoe option for an additional contracted capacity of 200 MW, making this project the largest ever renewable energy project in Maharashtra for TPREL.

The project is part of MSEDCL’s larger initiative to fulfil the Renewable Power Purchase Obligation (RPO) in the state and meet future power demand at a competitive tariff. The LoA was issued through a competitive bidding process conducted through an electronic reverse auction portal.
