The agreement provides exceptional flexibility in the RaaS model

GREENWICH, Conn., Sept. 18, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO), the world’s largest provider of pure-play contract logistics services, today announced a new agreement with Reflex Robotics, a cutting-edge general-purpose humanoid startup, to pilot Reflex’s robotic solution for deployment in real-world operations. This is GXO’s second Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) agreement.

The Reflex robot is a turnkey solution that is operational within 60 minutes of deployment and evolves to become fully autonomous, learning from human demonstrations over time. Reflex’s multi-functional humanoid robot can seamlessly transition between repetitive tasks, from moving containers between other types of automation to picking products.

“We are pleased to partner with Reflex to develop applications for the Reflex robot in various tasks in our warehouses,” said Adrian Stoch, Chief Automation Officer at GXO. “Through our operational incubator program, we are implementing cutting-edge technology solutions that create new value for our customers, for GXO and for our employees.”

GXO is leveraging its “operational incubator” program to work closely with leading developers to validate practical use cases, using the warehouse as a real-world laboratory. With Reflex Robot, GXO is currently co-creating a number of use cases in process paths through a pilot in an omni-channel fulfillment operation for a Fortune 100 retailer. The long-term goal of the agreement is to broadly deploy Reflex Robot across GXO operations, easing capacity constraints and enabling GXO team members to take on more fulfilling roles.

Ritesh Ragavender, CEO of Reflex Robotics, said, “We are excited that GXO, a leading provider of automated logistics solutions, is partnering with us to advance their strategy. We have learned a lot from working with the GXO team on-site and are quickly ramping up production of robots to support shelf-picking, order replenishment and quality assurance use cases.”
