If you’re having trouble getting your new Nest Thermostat to display, we’ll have a fix for you soon

The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th generation) is Google’s biggest smart thermostat project since its launch in 2011. One of the thermostat’s major new features, released in August, was a 2.7-inch display that was twice the size of its predecessor and more customizable. For example, you can set the main display to act as a clock, or show the weather or indoor temperature. As you get closer, it can switch to displaying humidity, outdoor temperature, or even an outdoor air quality indicator.

There was one huge drawback, though: Owners complained that the display was sometimes too dim. There was also no way to fix this issue, as the thermostat lacked manual brightness control. Google’s latest software update addresses this issue by adding this manual adjustment and optimizing the way the thermostat automatically adjusts the screen brightness.

To start using the new manual brightness setting, go to Settings menu on your Nest Learning Thermostat. After clicking on Device Settingstouch Display brightnessand then select Manual to adjust the brightness.
