Lawmakers want to know if Massachusetts property owners are using software accused of fixing prices

Three federal lawmakers are concerned that some Massachusetts landlords are using a tool that appears to help them share data and collude to set rents.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey and U.S. Representative Seth Moulton on Wednesday wrote to 13 large landlords in the state — including at least two with residential properties in the Pioneer Valley — about their potential use of RealPage software, which they say is key to an alleged rent-raising scheme.
