Google Photos Finally Rolls Out This Feature to Improve Current App Capabilities – Check Out Details

Google Photos has unveiled its much-anticipated image flip feature that will allow users to flip photos horizontally without having to use a third-party app. Previously, users would need third-party apps to achieve the same effect. This latest addition improves on the current capabilities of the Google Photos app, such as editing tools, smart organization, and easy sharing. However, the flip feature is available to a select group of users, and the tech giant plans to roll it out widely in the near future via a server-side solution.

Before this update, Google Photos users could only resize, rotate, and modify the aspect ratio of photos using the app’s crop feature.

The new horizontal flip feature will be placed next to the rotate tab once the update is fully integrated. As per the report, this new tool will also be available for videos. To use this new flip feature, Google Photos users will need to open the image they want to flip and click on the “Edit” tab. Users can find this “Flip” feature in the crop tools. Clicking on this tab will mirror the image horizontally. If the sources are to be believed, this update is expected to be available to all users soon. While this update may seem minor, it offers a valuable improvement for both casual users and seasoned photographers, reforming the photo editing processes.

In addition to the image rotation feature, Google Photos has also unveiled the “Ask Photos” tool for its users in the United States. Google announced this new feature at its annual I/O 2024 developer conference. It uses innovative Gemini models to understand the context of a user’s photo gallery. This tool can recognize key people, hobbies, and favorite foods to help locate specific memories and improve the search experience in the app. This Ask Photos feature can be used by both iOS and Android users.
