Trio stole $100,000 in corporate checks from mailboxes in New Jersey town, cops say

Three New Jersey men were arrested Wednesday on charges of stealing more than $100,000 in checks from the mailboxes of businesses in Wall, officials said.

All three were arrested after search warrants were served at their homes and investigators seized a 2024 BMW 5X, more than $10,000 in cash, about 13 pounds of marijuana, forgery devices, stolen checks, blank checks and several electronic devices, according to Wall police.

James Miller, 37, of Passaic, is charged with theft, 14 counts of forgery, possession of a government document, using a false document, possession of a forgery device and receiving stolen goods.

Bloomfield residents Kaleik Easton, 29, and Asia Harrell, 31, are charged with receiving stolen goods, possession of more than five pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a forgery device.

All three are being held in the Monmouth County Jail. Attorney information was not immediately available.

The arrests came after a months-long investigation, with state police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service assisting Wall police.
