Prime Minister Modi Celebrates First Anniversary of ‘Vishwakarma Programme’ in Wardha, Maharashtra Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today attend the National Prime Minister Vishwakarma Programme in Maharashtra Wardha. The central programme, launched on September 17 last year The aim of this year’s edition is to provide comprehensive support to craftsmen and artists.

Modi is reported to be distributing loans to 18 beneficiaries across 18 industries through the PM Vishwakarma scheme. The prime minister will also issue certificates to the beneficiaries at the event.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will release a commemorative stamp to mark the anniversary of progress made under the programme, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a press release on September 18.

“The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) park at Amravati in Maharashtra. The 1,000-acre park is being developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) as the state implementing agency,” read a press release.

Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) is undertaking the development of a 1,000-acre park. The Central Government has approved seven additional PM MITRA parks to support the textile industry.

According to the release, PM MITRA Parks will create world-class industrial infrastructure that will attract large-scale investments, including foreign direct investment (FDI), and encourage innovation and job creation in the sector.

Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi will also launch the Maharashtra government’s ‘Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centre’ and ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme’.

The Punyashlok Ahilyadevi programme will provide early support to women-led startups in Maharashtra by offering up to 25 lakh in financial assistance. It reserves 25 percent of its benefits for women from lower classes and economically weaker sections.
