Kelowna Chiefs host Osoyoos in KIJHL opener | Sport

The Kelowna Chiefs will open their Kootenay International Junior Hockey League season at home on Saturday night.

Kelowna will host the Osoyoos Coyotes at Rutland Arena in a 7:00 p.m. game.

The 21-team league’s regular season began Friday with the Coyotes taking on the 100 Mile House Wranglers on the road.

There are four divisions in the league: Osoyoos and Kelowna in the Bill Ohlhausen Division, as well as the Princeton Posse, Revelstoke Grizzlies, Sicamous Eagles and former long-time BCHL team, the Merritt Centennials.

The Quesnel River Rush are another new team in the league this season.
