Thieves attack Samtronix electronics store

– shares worth over $65 million were sold

Thieves recently broke into Samtronix, a smartphone and electronic gadget store located at 136 Regent Street in Georgetown, and stole merchandise worth more than $65 million.

Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean, told Stabroek News that the incident occurred between September 15 and 16 (Sunday and Monday). Investigations so far have shown that the owner had secured his building and when he returned on Monday, he discovered that items were missing from his shop. The commander confirmed that no arrests had been made in the matter and that investigations were ongoing.
