Sony Announces PlayStationOne-Themed PS5 and PS5 Pro to Celebrate 30 Years of PlayStation

Sony is celebrating 30 years of PlayStation, and the celebrations are quite extensive. The company recently announced a limited edition PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro as part of the celebrations. Sony said that this limited edition console, as well as accessories, will come in the classic PlayStation grey color and will feature the beloved retro multi-color PlayStation logo.

If you purchase this PlayStation 5 Pro console, in addition to the 2TB console, you can also purchase matching limited edition accessories including a DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, DualSense charging station, and disc drive cover.

The good news doesn’t stop there, as the 30th Anniversary bundle will also include a vertical stand, as well as a host of special collectibles, including an original PlayStation controller-style cable connector cover, 4 PlayStation-shaped cable ties, a PlayStation sticker, a PlayStation paper clip, and a limited edition PlayStation wall hanging item.

The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary bundle will include a PSOne-themed console, but you’ll also have the option to purchase all the other extras.

Sony also introduced a special edition PlayStation Portal Remote Player along with a DualSense Edge Wireless controller, which will be sold separately. These limited edition products celebrate the brand’s heritage.

The PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection is set to launch on November 21. It’s worth noting that Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 Pro bundle within the collection will be extremely limited, with only 12,300 units available worldwide. While Sony has yet to reveal pricing for any of the items in the anniversary collection, pre-sales for the exclusive console and accessories will begin on September 26 via PlayStation Direct.
