Coldplay India Tour 2025 registrations open today on BookMyShow: What are the chances of getting a ticket?

British band Coldplay will perform at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18 and 19 next year after a nine-year hiatus, so getting a ticket may prove to be difficult despite the stadium’s 50,000-capacity capacity.

Calculations based on ChatGPT confirm this, suggesting that the probability of receiving a ticket may be as low as 22%.

This prediction was first shared by ONDC’s Chief Marketing Officer, Tina Gurnaney, on X (formerly Twitter), under the heading “Chances of Getting a Ticket to a Coldplay Concert.”

Analysis suggests that around 1.5 lakh people will try to buy tickets on BookMyShow when the bookings open at 12:00 PM today (Sunday, September 22, 2024) India time.

This makes the probability of getting a ticket about 1 in 3. Theoretically.

This is because the chances of winning a ticket decrease even more when you take into account other factors, such as the fact that fans do not formally express their interest via multiple devices or accounts.

So, for example, if 20% of your fans fall into the category of not expressing interest and another 10% use multiple accounts or devices, the probability drops to about 1 in 4.4, or 22.7%.

Coldplay also offers special “Infinity Tickets” at a price 2000. However, the locations for these tickets will only be known on the day of the concert. Each fan can buy a maximum of two Infinity tickets.

Gurnaney’s post went viral, garnering 170.3k views, 1,567 likes and 100 reposts to date.

“One person can buy 8 tickets. That doesn’t take that into account,” the user wrote. Several other users also pointed out that group tickets could further reduce the chances.

Another user stated that ignoring VIP ticket prices will result in more competition for regular tickets, making them even more difficult to obtain.
