Despite a frustrating drawing at home to Arsenal, two Atalanta players excelled in their Champions League opener and Liverpool could be eyeing a £100 million swoop for the pair.

At the heart of Atalanta’s midfield is 25-year-old Ederson, who fits right into the bracket of midfielder Liverpool were eyeing through their Zubimendi pursuit.

As per TBR Football, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle have all been keeping tabs on the Brazilian.

And after completing a hattrick in the Europa League final last season, capping off a campaign where he notched 17 goals and 10 assists, Ademola Lookman was also on the Reds’ radar.

The former winger is more than capable across any of the three forward positions, a strength Liverpool identified in Chiesa earlier this summer.

The reason behind Rabiot’s failed summer move

Adrien Rabiot was available on a free transfer after his contract at Juventus expired and the Reds were reportedly interested in bringing the Frenchman to Anfield but he eventually ended up back in France with Olympic Marseille.

Unlike many professional footballers, Rabiot is represented by his mother, Veronique, and not by a professional agency.

Now, in an interview with RMC Sport, French football agent Bruno Satin has shed some light on Rabiot’s situation this summer.

“If (Rabiot) had been managed by a professional, he would certainly join a top 10 European club, especially since he was a free agent. So, it’s interesting to consider how things could have turned out differently.

Journalist Christian Falk states that Liverpool have confirmed interest in Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz and securing the highly-rated German international’s services will come with a hefty fee.

In a piece for The Daily Briefing, Falk outlined: “Florian Wirtz made it very clear that he wants to make the next step in 2025.

“He has a contract now until 2027, so Leverkusen wants a big fee for his services – €150m. That’s a lot and obviously not every club can afford to pay this.”
