BookMyShow app and website crashed minutes before Coldplay concert tickets went on sale in Mumbai

BookMyShow, the app and website that was supposed to be selling tickets for ColdPlay’s 12pm concert on Sunday, has crashed, much to the disappointment of fans of the British rock band.

Coldplay have announced they will perform in Mumbai as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour.

Fans who wanted to attend the concert, which was scheduled to take place on January 18 and 19, 2025, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, were unable to book tickets.

Irate fans reached out to X to express their disappointment. User X wrote: “wtf @bookmyshow how is it still showing coming soon when it’s 12:04 PM? No chance of getting Coldplay tickets when the app is down too #BookMyShow #Coldplay #Coldplayindia (sic).”

Some people also created funny memes mocking the ticket booking platform.

Another social media user wrote: “Selling out Coldplay tickets was acceptable, Not being able to log in was not, It’s pathetic that I went to see my favourite band and BMS sold it to hackers and bots. They didn’t even bother with the server, Why the hell did you decide to hold a ticket sale #BookMyShow (sic).”

Another post by X read: “I never understood why #BookMyShow is chosen as a ticketing partner for booking. They messed up the world cup tickets and now the cold open scene. App has crashed (sic).”

Ticket prices for the Coldplay concert start from Rs 2,500 to Rs 12,500.

The band formed in 1997 in London. It consists of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion and percussion instruments, and manager Phil Harvey.
