This week’s review began in 1872, when some Sydney builders had what seemed like a good idea at the time: Let’s use bricks covered with sand! And let’s use sand and spit to hold the bricks in place!

Why exactly these builders loved sand so much is a mystery. Were they trying to create indoor beaches? Or were they thinking 152 years in the future, when the crumbling sandstone bricks and questionable mortar that make up the walls of Digital Life Labs would provide the perfect lab environment for reviewing robot vacuums?
