Benchmark indices closed flat, with Nifty Metal among the biggest gainers!

Market update at 15:35: Benchmark indices ended the trading day on a flat note on Tuesday as Sensex fell 0.02 per cent to end at 84,914.04, while Nifty rose 0.05 per cent to end at 25,950.85. Similarly, the broader market, Nifty Midcap closed 0.23 per cent higher at 60,850.80, while Nifty Smallcap closed 0.56 per cent lower at 19,440.05.


Market volatility, as indicated by the India VIX indicator, fell by 3.12 per cent and now stands at 13.36, reflecting a decline in market volatility.


Nifty Metal, Nifty Energy and Nifty IT have emerged in the sector landscape as The greatest conquerorswhile Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Realty were the underperforming sectors.


TATASTEEL, HINDALCO and POWERGRID were among the top gainers while SBILIFE, HINDUNILVR and ULTRACEMCO were among the top gainers. The Biggest Losers.


Some 1,129 shares gained while 1,248 lost, indicating negative sentiment in the broader market.

Market update at 12:55: In the current trading session, benchmark indices rose marginally with Sensex up 0.08 per cent and Nifty up 0.07 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices, Nifty Midcap rose 0.10 per cent and Nifty Smallcap fell 0.32 per cent to trade around 19,485.


The India VIX index fell slightly by 0.94 per cent and is hovering around 13.66, indicating a slight decline in market volatility.


European stocks are expected to start Tuesday’s session in mixed territory as economic uncertainty and concerns about Europe’s growth prospects return to the forefront. European futures; DAX (+0.81%); CAC (+1.07%); FTSE (+0.62%)

Market update at 9:30am: Indian markets opened on a flat note on Tuesday with Nifty and Sensex showing minimal moves. Nifty Metal led the gains while Nifty IT was the biggest laggard.


The Sensex remained unchanged, down 0.01 per cent, trading around 84,920, while the Nifty also registered a marginal decline of 0.02 per cent, trading near 25,930. However, the broader market fared better with the Nifty Midcap rising 0.23 per cent to around 60,840 and the Nifty Smallcap gaining 0.18 per cent, trading near 19,580.


The India VIX index rose 0.65 per cent to 13.88, indicating a slight increase in market volatility.


Sectorally, Nifty Metal, Nifty Energy and Nifty Pharma are among the top beneficiaries, while Nifty IT, Nifty Realty and Nifty PSU Bank are the underperforming sectors.


TATASTEEL, JSWSTEEL and HINDALCO were among the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index, while INFY, BAJFINANCE and HINDUNILVR were among the top losers.


Around 1,387 stocks are gaining while 891 are losing, indicating positive sentiment in the broader market.


Pre-launch update 7:55 am: Gains in the Dow Jones Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors lifted stocks higher on Monday. At closing, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.15% to a new all-time high.


The S&P 500 gained 0.28 percent, while the NASDAQ Composite rose 0.14 percent. The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note rose 76 basis points to 3.74 percent, while the yield on the 2-year U.S. Treasury note rose 27 basis points to 3.59 percent.


GIFT Nifty is in an uptrend, which means a positive start to the day. Nifty futures are currently trading at 26,045.00.


Oil prices fell on Monday as concerns about demand rose amid weak business activity in the euro zone and a slowing Chinese economy.


Brent crude for November delivery fell 59 cents, or 0.8 percent, to $73.90 a barrel, while U.S. crude for November delivery fell 63 cents, or 0.9 percent, to $70.37 a barrel.


On September 23, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 404 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,022 crore.
