Raptors announce final contract signing ahead of training camp

Toronto Raptors sign final contract before training camp.

Former Texas standout Dylan Disu has signed a training camp deal to join the Raptors next month, the team announced Monday. Disu will be the 21st player in training camp for Toronto as part of an Exhibit 10 deal, which will allow the Raptors to retain Disu’s G League rights this season.

Disu, 23, spent five years in college before going undrafted earlier this summer. Last year, he averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 45.1 percent from deep for Texas. He’s a 6-foot-9 wing with three-point shooting potential, a skill Toronto could really use this season.

With Disu under contract, Toronto will bring three Exhibit 10 players to camp. Disu will be joined by Jamison Battle and Jaren Rhoden on Exhibit 10 deals. Canadian forward Quincy Guerrier was previously linked to Toronto on an Exhibit 10 deal, though his deal has not been officially announced yet. It will reportedly be signed once training camp begins, according to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.

G League teams are allowed to have a maximum of six players on Exhibit 10 deals, and the Raptors will likely release Disu, Battle and Rhoden before the end of training camp to make room for Guerrier and two other prospects.

With 21 players under contract, it appears Bruno Fernando has the inside track to Toronto’s last guaranteed contract. The 6-foot-9 center is Toronto’s only player on a standard non-guaranteed contract for training camp and could earn $2.4 million if he makes the Opening Night roster.
