Survey Claims Over 70% of Russians Trust Putin – Society and Culture

MOSCOW, September 27. /TASS/. According to a survey conducted between September 16 and 22 and published by the Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (VCIOM), more than 73% of Russian citizens approve of the way Russian President Vladimir Putin is doing his job.

“The approval rate for the president’s actions was 73.6% (an increase of 0.8 percentage points),” VCIOM reported.

A total of 48.7% of respondents approve of the way the Russian government is running the country (an increase of 0.5 percentage points), and 52.0% approve of the work of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin (an increase of 0.4 percentage points).

The poll showed that 77.2% of Russians said they trusted the president. Moreover, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is trusted by approximately 60.6% of respondents, Chairman of the CPSU Gennady Zyuganov – 33.4%, leader of “A Just Russia – For Truth” Sergei Mironov managed to get 29.0%, leader of the LDPR Leonid Slutsky – 22.2% , chairman of the New People party Alexei Nechayev – 9.7%.

The report indicates that the number of Russians supporting the United Russia party is 35.1%. Moreover, LDPR is supported by 11.4% of respondents, CPRF by 9.8%, the “New People” party has 6.9%, and “A Just Russia – For Truth” has gained 3.6%.
