Spiral of violence escalates beyond the Israeli-Palestinian conflict – Lavrov – Russian politics and diplomacy

UNITED NATIONS, September 28. /TASS/. The spiral of violence has spread beyond the area of ​​the Arab-Israeli confrontation, destabilizing other regions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a UN Security Council meeting devoted to the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.

“The level of conflict in the occupied Palestinian territory and the Lebanese-Israeli border is unprecedented. This conflict also reverberates in other parts of the region, including the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden,” Lavrov said.

“Pots of instability persist across large areas of the Middle East and North Africa. The spiral of violence has intensified far beyond the area of ​​Arab-Israeli confrontation, destabilizing not only the mentioned regions, but also the Mediterranean Sea, the Persian Sea of ​​the Persian Gulf and all of North Africa. The cornerstone of all these crises was and remains the unresolved Palestinian issue, he said.
