Minister Goyal discusses the benefits and prospects of PLI with 140 companies

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday held comprehensive talks with companies benefiting from the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

Goyal has engaged with 140 of the 1,300 manufacturing units spread across 14 sectors, revealing an expected investment of over Rs 2 lakh crore under the program.

According to the latest projections shared by Goyal, the PLI scheme was originally estimated to create 8.5 lakh jobs. Currently, the PLI scheme has the potential to generate around 12 lakh jobs.
