CBS will air a preview of its new series “The Summit” tonight.

According to the station, the program will feature 16 “ordinary Americans embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the treacherous New Zealand Alps, attempting to summit a mighty mountain in just 14 days to retain their share of the $1 million prize they carry in their backpacks.”

“The Summit” will air on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 9 p.m. on CBS.

  • LIVE BROADCAST: Fans can watch CBS without cable on fuboTV (free trial), DirecTV Stream (free trial) and Paramount+ (free trial).

In the preview episode, CBS said: “After a medical emergency occurs just hours into the hike and the climbers encounter a dangerous obstacle in a gorge, fear mounts when the Mountain Ranger who has been following them on their journey forces the group to make their first brutal decision moral…”

The host is Manu Bennett.

The show will move to its regular time slot of 9:30-11 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, after “Survivor.”

CBS describes “The Summit” – “These 16 strangers – from a Trader Joe’s employee and mother of two, to a 29-year-old trauma nurse, to a 33-year-old Air Force service member – truly enter the unknown because they didn’t know what they were signing up for. and many of them had no experience in climbing or camping.

“The result is that their character, both physically and mentally, is tested in ways they never imagined possible as they attempt to reach the top of a distant, lofty mountain.

“The group whose backpacks contain an equal share of a million dollars must travel a grueling distance in just 14 days to win the cash they carry.

“But not everyone will make it, as these strangers must work together to brave dangerous terrain, unforgiving Antarctic winds, heart-pounding challenges and gut-wrenching eliminations on their way to the top.

“Following them on this journey is the Mountain Guardian, which will surprise hikers with brutal twists and turns and force decisions that complicate an already exhausting climb. “Morals and relationships will be put to the test when deciding what to do if someone falls behind, because if the group fails to reach the ‘Summit’ in time, all prize money will be forfeited.”
