The Pixel Buds web app is now compatible with Windows and macOS

In August, Google released the Pixel Buds Pro 2 as its latest flagship TWS earbuds. The Pixel Buds series offers not only good sound quality, but also a lot of useful and convenient smart functions. However, these features were not available to Mac and Windows device users. Now, Google is addressing this issue by adding support for Windows and macOS in the Pixel Buds web app.

The Pixel Buds web app is not new, as Chromebook users have been using it for some time now. This allows them to enjoy most of the Pixel Buds’ features on their laptops, while Windows and macOS users had to make do with pairing the headphones.

Now, Google has updated its “Update Pixel Buds Firmware” help page. “The Pixel Buds web app is available on Chrome, macOS and Windows operating systems,” the new version reads. The web app is the same on all supported platforms, so all features are available, including checking your battery level and accessing extended controls.

When it comes to extended control, there are many options available. With this web app you can do everything a smartphone app can. You will be able to turn ANC on/off, adjust the equalizer or manage multi-point connectivity. You can also turn on/off call detection, in-ear detection, and even adjust the volume balance. Of course, the web app also allows you to update the firmware of the headphones even if there is no phone connected nearby.

In terms of features, the older generation Pixel Buds will get smarter in the near future thanks to Gemini integration. However, there is still no exact launch date for Gemini on previous Google handsets. Additionally, Gemini Live integration will continue to be exclusive to the Pixel Buds Pro 2, at least for now.
