Tony Hawk teases the future of ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’

Tony Hawk is confident that “there will be a future.” Tony Hawk’s professional skateboarder celebrating the game’s 25th anniversary.

Sharing a few words on Instagram, Hawk posted some behind-the-scenes clips of his beloved video game and wrote, “The original Tony Hawk’s professional skateboarder was released exactly 25 years ago. My intention and expectation for the game was primarily to give skateboarders pleasure. I had no idea it would transcend the niche market and become a huge success and, some say, change the course of skateboarding’s popularity (and perhaps even the evolution of skateboarding tricks). It definitely changed the course of my life and is the main reason why I still skateboard for a living to this day. And most of the characters featured are still there, representing the diversity of skateboarding in the best way possible.”

He continued: “Here’s a snippet of our motion capture session (with 411VM) in development. I was involved in every aspect of this project because I believed we were creating something special and I am extremely proud of the series that followed it… and their soundtracks.” Hawk added: “Thanks to Activision, Neversoft (RIP) and everyone who played THPS in those teenage years. I shouldn’t tease anything else about the future of the series; but there will be a future.

In June 2022, Birdman confirmed that it was expected Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 remasters were no longer moving forward as Activision abandoned plans for the games. He revealed that these remasters were already on the table at the time of release 1 +2which was released in September 2020. “I’d like to say we’re working on something, but you know, Vicarious Visions has kind of been disbanded and Activision is reviewing all of their cases, so I don’t know what’s next,” he said. he said.
