Android Authority’s thorough analysis of the latest Google Meet update indicates that Google will soon disable the app on Android TV. The wording in the code clearly indicates that this change will happen soon.

From some rather revealing code strings found in the update, it appears that Google Meet will likely be removed from Android TV entirely.

Google Meet, formerly Duo, was introduced to Android TV in 2020. It allows users to video chat on the big screen by connecting the webcam to the TV.

There is no official announcement from Google about this change yet. Android Central has requested comment and will update the post when we hear back.
