Police say the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa casino was evacuated twice after suspicious devices were found

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Seminole Hard Rock Tampa casino was evacuated twice in about 12 hours after suspicious devices were found in the casino, according to the Seminole Police Department.

Police said a “simple, hidden device containing firework components” was found in the men’s bathroom just before midnight Sunday evening. Part of the casino was evacuated.

Police said the device was turned off and the casino reopened around 3 a.m. Monday.

According to police, a second device was found in the mezzanine men’s room around noon on Monday, prompting another evacuation. The second device was deactivated and the casino reopened.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

Police continue to review surveillance footage and are working with the FBI to investigate this case.
