High Court rejects Vidya Sagar’s plea in actress Kadambari Jethwani case |

Actress case: HC rejects allegations of main accused Vidya Sagar

Vijayawada: The High Court on Tuesday, he rejected the complaint YSRCP officer Kukkala Vidya Sagar to send electronic gadgets confiscated from the Bollywood actress Kadambari Jethwani to the forensic laboratory (FSL). As data protection orders have already been issued, no further orders can be issued at this stage without hearing from both parties, the court said.
Vidya Sagar filed an application in the Supreme Court maintaining that the police intend to return the gadgets confiscated from Jethwani in the case registered by Ibrahimpatnam Police following his complaint. Following a complaint about Jethwani allegedly selling land to Vidya Sagar on the basis of forged documents, the Ibrahimpatnam police arrested her and confiscated her phone and other gadgets.
Expressing concern that evidence in the case may be deleted, his petition sought multiple reliefs, including a silence order, restraining senior police officials from interfering in the investigation and not disclosing Jethwani’s frozen bank accounts.
Senior solicitor general T Niranjan Reddy said the police are planning to take away the FSL gadgets and return them to Jethwani. He said the gadgets contain key evidence in the case and if returned, the data could be deleted, which would harm the interests of the petitioner.
The Supreme Court had earlier directed the police to secure data and gadgets until further orders. Later, Vidya Sagar pleaded to send the gadgets back to FSL and get the report in a sealed envelope.
Opposing Vidya Sagar’s plea, Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas said the Supreme Court has already passed orders protecting the interests of the petitioner and he cannot seek modification of the court’s interim orders. Further hearings in this case are scheduled for October 16.
