NVIDIA has released another major update to the NVIDIA app, which is still in beta. The app, which replaces the aging NVIDIA Control Panel and GeForce Experience app, continues to add more features. With the latest announcement, the company confirms that it will be exiting beta before the end of the year, while also confirming that the days of GeForce Experience are numbered.

“We intend to migrate all remaining GeForce Experience users to the new NVIDIA app when it comes out of beta before the end of the year,” NVIDIA explains. “We will continue to add the remaining NVIDIA Control Panel options in future updates, with the goal of unifying the NVIDIA Control Panel and key GeForce Experience features in one application, offering new features and additional improvements that will provide an even better experience for our users.”

GeForce Experience fans may not be happy with this news, but in our experience, the NVIDIA app is a huge improvement. Here’s what’s added in the latest update.

Added G-SYNC controls to the GPU Control Center

The NVIDIA app handles all the detailed display settings from the NVIDIA Control Panel in a modern and clean interface. The latest update now adds G-SYNC control. NVIDIA notes that all that remains is to add surround options, custom resolutions, and multi-monitor options in a future update.

RTX HDR multi-monitor support

RTX HDR is one of the widely known new features of NVIDIA apps. It is an AI-powered tool that adds dynamic HDR to thousands of non-HDR games running on DirectX 9, 11, 12 and Vulkan APIs. One issue with this feature was that it didn’t work in multi-display or multi-monitor setups, but it does now.

New additions based on user feedback

A nice feature for those who love statistics and performance overlays. NVIDIA has finally added options to change font color, size and placement. Optimal gaming settings options have also been expanded, app-specific driver options have been added, and new filters have been added to help sort and hide displayed games and apps. And finally, there is a new option to roll back a previously installed driver, which is great.’

The NVIDIA application update comes with the latest version of the GeForce Game Ready 565.90 WHQL driver.
