When I say charging station, what do you feel? Are you full of emotion and enthusiasm? If not, the Anker Prime Charger 6-Port 250W Charging Station will almost certainly change that.

This charging station has six charging ports – four USB-C and two USB-A. You can monitor electricity output levels for each port using the station’s built-in screen to ensure each device is receiving the appropriate power level.

However, let’s say you’re charging six devices but want to make sure your phone gets back to 100% quickly. Don’t worry – with Port Priority you can be sure that your phone will charge without delay. Of course, this doesn’t mean that this station can’t handle six devices at the same time. With a maximum output of 250W, you’ll likely have more than enough power to power phones, laptops, tablets, and more.

During testing, I used the default charging configuration, AI power mode. This uses artificial intelligence to optimize power allocation across the station. However, there are also three other modes – port priority, dual laptop mode and low current mode. Most will find that by default they are able to perform their charging duties perfectly well.

What I really like about this station is the number of cool features it offers, making it one of the best Android chargers and best iPhone chargers. If you download the Anker app, you can connect to the charging station via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. You can add a screensaver with a clock to the station, with many different designs to choose from. The Anker app also allows you to view real-time power output data, schedule power on/off, and adjust the station’s screen brightness.

An interesting but welcome addition is Secret Features, which include a collection of fun animations that appear on the station’s screen if you perform hidden tasks (like turning port priority on and off 10 times).

So what’s the catch? Well, this station has a list price of $169.99/£169.99, which is a big investment for what is ultimately just a multi-port charger. However, if you want a feature-rich, fast station that will fit perfectly on your desk, it doesn’t get much better than this. Ultimately, Anker has delivered a top-quality product here, but it will be much more than most people need.
