Former CM criticizes BJP over Panchkula killings and land grab

On the last day of the Assembly election campaign, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda launched a scathing attack on the BJP, highlighting various issues including the 2017 Panchkula violence that left 40 people dead and Mirchpur. Hooda accused the BJP of handling the situation wrongly, stating, “The Dalit community has not forgotten the Panchkula incident. Of the 40 people killed, 30 are said to be Dalits. Despite court orders, the BJP allowed the gathering in Panchkula and even the Supreme Court questioned the deaths caused by police firing. But the BJP has no answer.”

Referring to the land acquisition policy, Hooda defended the farmer-friendly approach of the Congress. “During the Congress government, we provided fair compensation to farmers by fixing a minimum land price. The BJP and INLD governments have plundered farmers in the name of land grab.”
