NIST, cryptography and the future of VPNs

As technology continues to advance, the concept of quantum computing – once the domain of theoretical physicists and science fiction – is coming closer to practical reality.

Quantum computing has the potential to revolutionize modern technology, but it could also render current cryptographic systems obsolete, which could undermine the very foundations of digital security. Anticipating this challenge, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently completed work on a set of quantum-resistant encryption standards.
