Adele Lim is the director of ‘The Princess Diaries 3’.

EXCLUSIVE: Adele Lim returns to work with Disney as the director of the third part of her acclaimed film The Princess Diaries concession.

This is Lim’s second time behind the camera after writing Disney’s 2021 animated film, Raya and the Last Dragon. Lim made her directorial debut with the raunchy Asian-American women’s comedy, rated R by Lionsgate R A joy ride.

The producer is Debra Martin Chase The Princess Diaries 3. EPs include Lim’s producing partners Naia Cucukov and Melissa Stack. Flora Greeson is writing the script.

Disney launched The Princess Diaries in 2001, catapulting Anne Hathaway to brand status at the box office. There was also a sequel from 2004, titled The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement. Both also starred Julie Andrews and were directed by the late Garry Marshall. The two pictures grossed a total of WW$300 million. The first film was about Hathaway’s Mia Thermopolis, who learns that she is the heir to the throne of Genovia. He takes his friends Lilly and Michael Moscovitz along for the ride as he tries to navigate his teenage years.

Lim tells us, “As a die-hard fan of the original The Princess DiariesI’m incredibly excited to be a part of creating the third installment of this beloved series. We can’t wait to celebrate the core pillars of women’s power, joy and mentorship with audiences around the world.”

Lim is a writer and producer of such television programs as One Tree Hill AND Lethal Weaponas well as being co-showrunner of the CW series Crossed star.

She wrote the script for Warner Bros. hit romantic comedy directed by Jon Chu Crazy Rich Asians which grossed $174 million in the United States and earned nominations for Best Picture at the Golden Globes and Producers’ Guild Awards, as well as winning a Critics Choice Award.

Last year, Lim teamed up with Naia Cucukov to form the production company 100 Tigers. Cucukov was a former senior executive at Walden Media, whose credits include: Netflix series Caregivers Club AND Manhunt. The company’s mission is to “support and empower artists and projects that share our passion for creating feminine, cross-cultural stories with global appeal and sparkle.” 100 Tigers has several projects in development at various studios, including Amazon/MGM, HBO Max and ABC.
