Mark Zuckerberg’s wallet is getting fatter.

Meta’s CEO is currently the second richest person in the world, ahead of Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault. With a personal fortune of $206 billion, according to the latest data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he is currently second only to Elon Musk.

The latest data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index show that in 2024, Zuckerberg increased his wealth by as much as $78.1 billion. He joins the elusive $200 billion club with only two other members.

This includes Musk ($256 billion), the CEO of Tesla and X, and Bezos ($205 billion), the founder of Amazon. Arnault, CEO of luxury brand LVMH, recently left the club with a net worth of $193 billion.

Zuckerberg, 40, who founded Facebook in 2004, has most of his wealth tied up in Meta Platforms shares. Meta (META) shares are up more than 72% in 2024. On Friday, Meta shares gained 2.26% to close at a record high of $595.94.

Meta supports popular social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and Threads, as well as WhatsApp.

In a speech on September 25 at the Meta Connect 2024 event, Zuckerberg said that Meta AI is on track to become the most used assistant in the world.

“We have almost 500 million monthly (active users) and we haven’t even launched the service in some of the larger countries yet,” Zuckerberg said, referring to European Union countries.

Zuckerberg isn’t the only tech mogul to see a big jump in his fortune this year. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, and Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle, saw their net worth increase by $63.5 billion and $55.9 billion, respectively, in 2024.
