Feel like a pro with the redesigned Samsung camera app

Following yesterday’s announcement that Samsung One UI 7 will be pushed back to early 2025, news comes out that makes the wait more bearable. Samsung is getting a redesigned camera app in One UI 7 that should make taking photos with one hand much easier.

Android Authority posted a video on YouTube and described its findings, but it’s worth watching the clip yourself. It lasts just over 6 minutes and provides a lot of information about the new interface.

User SamMobile posted a video detailing his hands-on experience with One UI 7. About 5 minutes in, he goes into detail and shows off the new camera app, highlighting a few noteworthy changes.

The biggest change is that the viewfinder settings have been moved to the bottom of the screen to make it easier to use the camera with one hand. It’s now available in a carousel format, making it easy to scroll through all the options without having to do Simone Biles-worthy exercises with your hand. In other words, you can now turn the flash on and off, change the aspect ratio and much more without having to delve into the menu.

The app will also automatically display the appropriate settings depending on the selected camera mode. We first saw these changes some time ago in leaked screenshots, but the images weren’t clear. This video takes a much closer look at the application.

Please note that Samsung has not yet announced the One UI 7.0 beta, so the final version of the app may change by the time it launches next year. Either way, considering everything this new interface has to offer, it’s worth getting excited about.
