Emirates Airlines Bans Pagers, Walkie Talkies After Lebanon Attacks – Companies

ubai’s Emirates Airlines has banned passengers from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on its flights following last month’s attacks on the Lebanese group Hezbollah using exploded communications devices.

“All passengers traveling to, from or through Dubai are prohibited from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies in their checked or hand luggage,” the airline said in a statement on its website on Friday. He added that any prohibited items found would be confiscated by Dubai Police as part of enhanced security measures.

The deadly September attacks exploded thousands of Hezbollah pager mines and hundreds of radios – attacks that Israel was widely blamed for but did not admit to.

The Middle East’s largest airline also announced that flights to Iraq and Iran will remain suspended until Tuesday, while services to Jordan will resume on Sunday.

Flights to Lebanon will remain suspended until October 15 due to escalating Israeli attacks on Iran-backed Hezbollah, including strikes near Beirut airport.

Due to the increased tension, several other airlines also suspended flights to Beirut and other regional airports.
