The government encourages foreign owners of small and medium-sized enterprises in Bali to increase the scale of their operations – regulations

Immigration authorities in Bali plan to conduct an in-depth assessment of local business activities after receiving complaints about the growing number of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) on the island controlled by foreigners.

The measure was aimed at assessing the performance of companies run by foreigners and encouraging them to increase their investment to 10 billion rupees ($638,162), in line with current regulations, said Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim. Jakarta Post Office on Friday.

“At least there will be no more new cases and current foreign entrepreneurs are encouraged to (comply with the regulation),” he reiterated.

Local business owners, supported by community leaders and politicians, called on central and provincial governments to ensure strict enforcement of existing regulations.
