Woman buys Too Good To Go’s ‘ultimate’ bag for £3 – containing 14 products

We all love our bargains when it comes to food, and since Too Good To Go launched in the UK in 2016, many of us haven’t looked back.

The app allows us to search local restaurants and takeaways nearby – or further afield if we want to travel – for unsold food at a deeply discounted price that would otherwise be thrown away. The program was extremely popular during the coronavirus pandemic, and supermarkets also got involved, enabling customers to collect goods close to their expiry date.

One woman who recently took advantage of a great deal is TikTok user Jo (@thismumcooks), who bought 14 products for just £3.25 before proudly showing off her haul in a video. “These bags are a big risk, but when you get a great Too Good To Go bag it can be amazing, and today was one of those days!” – she announced in the caption next to her clip.

Jo added: “14 products for just £3.25. I don’t know of any other app that offers such amazing deals, but you’re taking your chances. I think I have about 20 pounds in this bag and my kids hope I absolutely love it.”

Excited about the family’s “Saturday night treat”, Jo held the bag aloft and was delighted that she “already knew it would be good” due to its weight. Smiling, she began by showing a box of two chocolate eclairs before reaching deep into the bag.

She then showed off chocolate, strawberry and vanilla donuts, two meat and potato patties, one cheese and onion patty and her “first mince pie of the year.” Then more food appeared in the form of satay chicken skewers, even more pâtés, donuts and minced meat pies, and sandwiches with egg mayonnaise.

After summing up her efforts, she exclaimed, “This is crazy! I’ve never had a Too Good To Go bag this good.”

“This has to be the record-breaking best bag ever! Where does she come from?” – asked one of Jo’s 251,000 followers. “It really was, it was a Sayers bag,” she replied.
