The AB Party and IRI exchange views on the actions of the interim government and the reform process

US-based international non-governmental organization, International Republican Institute (IRI), held an exchange of views with the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party today (October 7) on the performance of the caretaker government, the reform process and the upcoming polls.

According to a press release, the IRI delegation exchanged views during a meeting with AB party leaders at the party’s headquarters in the city.

The IRI delegation included Acting Resident Program Director Joshua Rosenblum, Acting Resident Program Manager Christopher Brennan, Senior Program Manager Amitabha Ghosh, and Bangladesh Office Program Manager Ruaksana Haque.

AB Party leaders introduced the IRI delegation to Next Generation Politics and how they want to bring change to the political landscape through policy-driven politics.

They also announced their plan to expand the party’s activities throughout the country, especially the expansion of the organization beyond the capital.

AB Party leaders said this is the right time to work to protect democratic values ​​without fear or intimidation.

During the meeting, they discussed the activities of the interim government, while the AB Party member secretary informed the IRI delegation about the party’s recent meeting with the Chief Advisor, during which the party presented six observations and 11-point proposals for the further work of the interim government.

AB Party leaders informed the delegation of their thoughts on ensuring justice and accountability for various mass murders, crimes against humanity, gross human rights violations and money laundering during the regime of the previous fascist government.

Recalling the historic sacrifice of thousands of young people during the July student uprising, party leaders vowed to build a new progressive Bangladesh and establish a second republic and a welfare state for all in the true sense of the word, while the IRI delegation welcomed the activities of the AB Party in building a new Bangladesh.
