Angolan president discusses rescheduling of his visit with Joe Biden

Luanda — The Angolan President, João Lourenço, spoke Thursday by telephone with the President of the United States about the new date of Joe Biden’s state visit to Angola.

According to a note published by the Press Office of the Angolan President, the meeting focused on the postponement of Joe Biden’s visit to Angola, with a view to the rescheduling of this trip to this southern African country, initially scheduled for 13 to October 15.

João Lourenço took the opportunity to express his solidarity with the American administration and people for the calamities caused by Hurricane Milton.

President Joe Biden postponed his trip to Angola following the devastation caused by Hurricane Milton, which hit the state of Florida last Wednesday, killing ten people so far.

Strong winds blowing at speeds of around 160 kilometers per hour, causing tornadoes, were recorded on the American coast. Authorities have issued safety warnings, aiming to protect coastal communities.
