Former juvenile probation officer accused of using fuel card for personal car

MINDEN, Nev. (KOLO) – A former juvenile probation officer is facing Douglas County charges for allegedly using his issued fuel card to put gas in his own car.

Jesse Michael Chulay was arrested Oct. 4 on a warrant issued by East Fork Township Justice Court for three counts of theft.

The criminal complaint alleges that Chulay, on three occasions, used his fuel card for his own car and failed to pay for fuel he allegedly took at the county’s expense.

Chulay allegedly filled his car with 13.85 gallons of fuel on January 30, 2023, 13.25 gallons on February 24, 2023, and eight gallons of fuel on December 11, 2023, creating a total loss to the county of approximately $127.

The 37-year-old is no longer employed by the county. He was released on bail.
