Mortgage Choice raises $360,000 for charity

The Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation (MCCF) announced it raised more than $360,000 for Australian charities in FY24.

This includes $96,000 for its national partner, Dolly’s Dream, and more than $264,000 for more than 50 local charities across the country.

Established in 2022, the MCCF is a broker-led initiative supported by the REA Group.

Contributions come from voluntary donations, with Mortgage Choice brokers contributing $5 from each loan issued. Over the past year, 92% of brokers participated, up from 83% in FY23.

“We are very proud of the impact that the Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation is having on the most vulnerable members of our communities,” said Anthony Waldron, CEO of Mortgage Choice. “Our brokers not only donate, but also volunteer their time to support local charities.”

Since the partnership began in 2023, the collaboration has raised more than $96,000 to continue these efforts.

Sally Sweeney, Head of Dolly’s Dream, praised the partnership, saying: “The partnership between Dolly’s Dream and the Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation is truly incredible… Every act of kindness, every conversation and every effort made by the Mortgage Choice team really matters. in our movement to end bullying.

Local charities benefit across Australia

In addition to Dolly’s Dream, Mortgage Choice brokers have supported more than 50 local charities across the country. Beneficiaries included organizations such as Big Group Hug, Cancer Council’s Relay for Life and Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Donna Campbell, national chair of the MCCF committee, emphasized the importance of giving back.

“By donating your time to help those less fortunate, you gain a new perspective and a strong sense of purpose,” Campbell said.
