MT. HEALTHY, Ohio (WXIX) – New details have been released about a homicide committed in late September as law enforcement continues to search for suspects.

Reginald Simpson, 42, was not the target of the Sept. 28 shooting near the Speedway gas station on Hamilton Avenue in Mt. Healthy, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

The suspects, who were in a gray 2021 Kia K5, began following their targets from the Hilltop Plaza area on Hamilton Avenue, the sheriff’s office said.

On September 28, around 3 a.m., the sheriff’s office said Simpson, an innocent bystander, was sitting in his vehicle when he was shot and killed.

The suspects’ Kia was found, but the suspects themselves remain at large, the sheriff’s office said Friday.
