The MoCI roundtable discusses the challenges facing the logistics industry

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoCI) on Wednesday organized a roundtable discussion with several logistics companies to discuss the main challenges facing the logistics services sector and look for solutions to help it grow. This session, attended by Saleh bin Majid al- Khulaifi, Undersecretary for Industry and Business Development, MoCI, is one of a series of meetings between the ministry and the private sector aimed at discussing and assessing challenges and obstacles in several key sectors, one of which are logistics services. This comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to support key sectors, simplify current procedures, review international practices and develop solutions that will help create a creative business environment in Qatar. The session discussed the impact of current customs regulations and procedures on logistics operations, regulatory changes that will benefit the logistics sector, and how to use public-private partnerships to improve the logistics sector in Qatar. The session also highlighted the main projects and initiatives undertaken by MoCI to support the logistics services sector.
